Dallas-based Snappy Salads Opts for Eco-Friendly Paper Straws

Snappy Salads, a Dallas-based restaurant chain, recently announced it’s ditched plastic straws and has switched to the paper versions to limit its negative impact on the environment. As of last month, the store’s guests could sip from biodegradable paper straws made by Aardvark Straws, the only U.S. manufacturer of paper straws, replacing the cheaper plastic version offered at most eating establishments.

Snappy Salads Bans Plastic Straws

Following a trail blazed by chef Mario Batali last year, Dallas restaurant chain Snappy Salads has instituted a ban on plastic straws at all of its locations. Founder and CEO Chris Dahlander says that he’s replacing them with the more eco-friendly paper straws, even though it will be more costly.

Snappy Salads Ribbon Cutting

The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce marked the opening of Snappy Salads with a ribbon cutting event. The restaurant is located at 6550 N. MacArthur Blvd.
